I was walking with my dad and my son on the section of beach which runs between Silver Sands and Walnut beach. I hope we can make some time to clean some of this up. It is a real eye sore.

Vin I don't know if this would work at Mondo Ponds because there are so many areas along the banks the fishermen use. Another concern would be the large number of song birds that are present at the ponds. I'm wondering if they would think the tubes are a nesting site and when they enter become tangled in any line that was deposited.

As for Fishing line. Let’s take a cue from the Audubon Center @ Milford Pt. They have a fishing line disposal tube for fishermen to use. It is simply a 4″ pvc pipe screwed to a 4×4 post. The top has a 45 degree curve in it to keep water out. The bottom has a screw on / or screw in plug threaded into it.

Could this be a good project for the new Stewards?

I think if everyone picks up after themselves then there would never be trash and garbage for us all to deal with. Wouldn't that be great in a perfect World?

We need to get out in numbers and clean our Parks, Cities, States.

Do your part and come on down for a great Milford Earth Day 2010.
